It is easy to use the words environmentally friendly or carbon-free
as "Buzzwords" to attract people that are interested in improving the
environment and reversing the trend of global warming in the same way that "All Natural", "Organic", or "Fat Free"
gets our attention regarding the food we eat. However, most of us have
learned that use of these terms can sometimes be misleading and may not
assure us that we are really eating something that is truly healthy for us.
In the
same way the use of environment buzzwords to sell products
may also be misleading.

guiding force behind RansonGreen are interested in doing more than selling a
concept. They want to effect true change. They want to achieve the
reality of a carbon-free community by using cutting-edge, yet affordable
technology, within reach of the common man. We believe that if this goal
cannot be met by the use of eco-friendly, carbon free technologies will never
be widely adopted. Therefore, our challenge is really economic rather than

Technology that Makes Sense
Did you know
that there are zero carbon technologies that
ALWAYS cost less than their
conventional counterparts? It's true! Normally when we think of
alternative energy we think of solar (heat or photovoltaic) panels or wind
turbines. To be sure these are important and viable sources of alternative
energy. However, the initial cost of these products may not be within the
reach of your budget even with their energy tax credits.
One less
known technology that is almost always affordable is a geothermal heat pump
when it is included in the cost of the home.
This is because the additional money this adds to your monthly
mortgage payment is less that the average energy cost to heat and cool your
home provided it is properly insulated. The advantages don’t stop here.
Geothermal heat pumps require less maintenance, last longer and don’t
have noisy outside components. Energy
savings can be as much as 70%!
Geothermal installations are able to achieve these lowered costs because
they make use of the sun’s energy that is stored in the earth.

The Political Climate
We believe
that we are uniquely positioned in history to begin on a path that will
shape the future of our planet. When President Elect Obama takes
office we expect to see new legislation passed into law that will
dramatically improve research and implementation of new environmental
technologies that will lower the production of greenhouse gases and depend
more heavily on renewable zero-carbon energy sources. In addition to
reducing our dependence on foreign oil this will also reduce demand for
domestic oil as well. We need to reallocate some of the R&D spending
on further oil exploration to the development of new carbon-free energy
technology.
We feel
that this has already begun to
happen. The amount of new
environmentally aligned
technology developed in the past
year is truly staggering. It
seems as if almost every day
there are important new
technologies coming to market.
It is truly exciting to see what
we formerly considered dreams
become reality. These
developments highlight our human
ingenuity and resourcefulness.
As these science fiction-like
achievements occur they will
encourage us to work even harder
to replace fossil fuels as the
primary source of energy in our
world.
